In this portrait from the beginning of her Text Adventure, Shir appears to be dressed for a fancy party. Perhaps she's going to crash a bash to prepare for her attempt to rob the party throwers?

You gotta admit Shir was given a unique role of being a thief. The only other RPG thief I recall is Rikku from Final Fantasy X and she isn’t entirely a thief herself she is just able to steal things in the begging of the game from enemies.
