Phantasy Star: Fringes of Algo

Kara is a subject of much debate among fans of Phantasy Star III: Generations of Doom. There are two young women with this name, both daughters of Lune but with very different appearances and attitudes. This version appears on the timelines of Nial, son of Rhys and Lena. She will either be raised alongside the son of Nial and Alair, Aron, or meet the children of Nial and Laya, Adan and Gwyn, and adventure with such depending on who Nial chose to marry. In terms of her first appearances in each branch, she seems to care for Aron more. She accompanies Adan because her father wishes it, but volunteers to join Aron on her own initiative.

Following in the footsteps pioneered by Phantasy Star II, Phantasy Star III: Generations of Doom gave each playable character an individual head shot portrait to make them more recognizable to players. This was especially vital for this game, which tended to use the same set of graphics for several characters with slight color changes. Unlike the similar pictures of Nei and friends, however, these portraits were used for speech in important story scenes and the standard character menu. The previous game restricted the portrait availability to Rolf's house, but this one allowed the players to see the characters at any time they were available for play.
