Phantasy Star: Fringes of Algo

This sketch shows part of a scene from the Phantasy Star IV prototype game that appeared at the 1992 Tokyo Toy Show. The full scene displayed the main cast of the game - Rune, Chaz, Rika, and Wren in that order, in stills similar to those shown if you do not press start at the title screen of the final game. The version in the prototype is a bit different from this, however, in that much of this was cropped out for it.

I'm bumping this for the pure heck of it. That, and because I noticed how much this armor looks like Rolf's. I'm glad it was changed before production, even though I, of course, really like Rolf. Heh. Anyway, I've always liked the look of Chaz's armor (in the game), so the improvements to the final version I heartily endorse.

I'm still not a huge fan of Chaz's baby face, but this is really an excellent sketch all around. I love the pose!
