This collage is composed of the portraits for the playable cast of
Phantasy Star II. If you look closely, you can see that the background for most of the portraits matches up seamlessly with one of the others. The characters themselves do not fit the concept as well due to the limited space and differing angles of view. There are several shoulders or arms that are cut off and everyone would appear to be the same height, even though some should tower over others. Rolf's background is the odd one out, in that it does not match perfectly with any of the others. Still, the concept of the matching backgrounds is interesting because this is the only true close up the game provides of any building interior.
