Phantasy Star: Deluxe Edition: Nero's Fall

In the opening scenes of the remake, the end of Nero's life is once again replayed. His young sister, Alis, holds him close in his final moments. Nero's bloody wounds are even more visible than in the original. Perhaps this is because his shirt has been opened wider. Whatever the case, it seems Alis must once again take up the quest of Nero.

Is it just me or does the blood look like someone's edited it in with Paint?

It does look a little strange doesn't it? Almost as if it was forgotten and added in at the last minute.

The bright red of the blood has always struck me as out of place compared to the other colors. They seem muted and dull compared to it.
