Phantasy Star: Fringes of Algo

Out of all of Lutz's conversation portraits in Phantasy Star generation 1, this may be the most expressive. His raised eye brows and open mouth clearly signify a bit of joy in his heart. What is he so happy about? Well, that varies with each use of the portrait, of course. One might imagine that this often comes up when the party of our heroes reaches a consensus on their next destination. Perhaps it also appears when they achieve an important accomplishment, like locating and rescuing Dr. Luveno.

Really not all that much difference in the Lutz being angry photo and this one of Lutz being happy, if you ask me. One would think if he were happy then he could have smiled more or even laughed a little bit. Oh well!!!

Well SS but that's Lutz we're talking about ! Not really the funniest guy in video games, right ?

But here he seems to be really happy about what is before his eyes.

"Lutz" and "Luveno"... After reading this post I was wondering if there was a connection between these names and the bust of Lubetz, since it sounded like a mixture of those names. However, after playing PSIV (just a few seconds of the JP ver.) I saw it was just a bad translation after-all.

In PS1 and Compendium: ルベノ博士 (Rubeno Dr.)
In PS4JP: ドクタールベノ (Doctor Rubeno)

So... it was always Luveno and not an alternating spelling that evolved after 1000 years (as I thought at first).

True that the LUBETZ name was always strange to me : the first time I've seen it, I was really sure that this was a bust of Dr Luveno (from PSI) as the text was saying a scientist from 2000 years ago.
Now we know that Luveno/Rubeno is the good transcription...and Lubetz is a bad one !

It's nice to know for sure about Lubetz. When I first played PSIV, I always wondered about the significance of that. I had only played PSIII previously back then, so no knowledge of Luveno. At the time, I thought some other reference to Lubetz might show up along the way, but it was just that one off thing.

Right Thoul, I've forgotten that you have played Phantasy Star III first !; (me it was my second PS). I cvan't really remember if me and my two brothers have mad an instant link to Dr Luveno but after yes !
