Phantasy Star generation:1: Governor Portrait

This is the Governor of Motavia, who lives in the capital city of Paseo. He is responsible for overseeing government affairs on the desert planet, but still is subject to the laws of the king. He is more than happy to aid Alis in her quest to overthrow King Lassic, at least in exchange for a shortcake. This portrait, as you might expect, appears when first meeting the man. Sadly, the event does not get a full cutscene like the meetings with the player characters.

In PSG1, the Governor has a very strange face ! Strange one but that doesn't mean that I don't like his new face : it's just that the governor with blonde hair it's...very strange ! And I 've always wondered WHY he wanted a shortcake ? And Why the cake is only located in Naula cave ; are the two people, the governor and the cakeshop owner, tied ?

I was a bit surprised myself when I first saw this picture. I didn't picture the governor with blonde hair either. I guess I thought he would look older and more wizened. The shortcake thing is weird. I never understood why we have to give it to the robot, rather than the governor. The governor himself never even mentions it to us, does he? Maybe the robot really wanted it, but didn't want anyone to know there was a robot that could eat?

LOL about the robot eating : I imagine the picture and... 
But yes a shortcake, the robot...all is very mysterious...why especially a shortcake and not sweets in general ? (because Naula is far from the governor so...harder to reach ? )
About the governor, he really seems to be younger here than i the original and blonde : even in the first game, he wasn't blonde at all.
