Phantasy Star Complete Collection: Slicer

Postby Thoul » Mon Dec 5, '11, 12:02 am

When it comes to taking on a large group of opponents, one of the most useful weapons in any Phantasy Star game is a slicer. They vary from simple boomerangs to more deadly contraptions of spinning blades, like this basic slicer from Phantasy Star III illustrated in the game manual. Slicers are especially helpful in this game, where a front row of weak enemies might protect a stronger back row. Send this device sailing through the air and the rappies will be sliced and diced in no time. Just be careful when you catch it on the return trip, or you might lose a hand!

Since I play Phantasy star, I always wanted to see what a Slicer or a slasher look like... And now I can see it O_O!!!

Its a really great picture we have here ... I think, these think (after utilisation) make a kind of ball for transport it... Great Idea !!

Anna: I, uh, what is this? This thing looks like a demented weed whacker, not a boomerang!
Thea: I can use it just fine, though! =)

Nice pic but strange weapon ! Like Thoul said, be careful not to lose some fingers in the return ! ;) But surely very effective (if you wear a steel glove or something like that ^^)

Cool artwork of a cool weapon. Most of the item artworks (PS III) I've seen so far look a bit strange. It gives them a unique touch.

PSIII items sure have a very peculiar design in general : such is the game in general if you compare it with the others. But a great game !

If this slicer its from PSIII... Do the Slicer from PSIV is more technologic or Better? Like more advanced ( I don't know how to really say that, I hope you'll understand...).

Maybe slicer from PSIV are a little differend than that slicer...

I'm not sure if slicers are shown in the PSIV manual or artwork. In the game, they look like simple boomerangs. Of course, the PSIII slicers look like boomerangs instead of this spinning ball of death in that game, so that doesn't mean the simple shape in PSIV's graphics excludes something more technological.
