Myau is very expressive in Phantasy Star generation 1, but even so, it is a little difficult to tell what he is feeling in this conversation portrait. Perhaps this look is not so much sad as sympathetic? His tail, which is lower in this picture than his other portraits, adds to the effect. Whatever you want to call the expression, I give the artist credit for making him look a lot like a cat in this and the other Myau portraits.

NO ! MYAU is NEVER sad !

I don't think he is really sad : he is more sympathetic, like you said earlier.
True that the tail is lower here and maybe that's a good way to show his way of thinking at the moment.

I would have to agree that I don't think Myau is sad. He just doesn't really have a look of sadness about him in his face here. His face is more, I don't know, perhaps a little inquisitive or wondering or something of that nature. Excellent picture of Myau too by the way!
