One of the weaker enemies encountered during
Phantasy Star was the Scorpion family. These winged creatures return for
Phantasy Star - Deluxe Edition with very little alteration in their design. The claws are much larger and the tail stinger is more pronounced. The eyes are smaller and closer together. Combined with more obvious fangs instead of a beak-like mouth, the facial changes give the creatures a more menacing appearance.
Phantasy Star - Deluxe Edition internally refers to this image as "scorpirus," which is pretty close to English
Phantasy Star name for the most powerful branch of the family, Scorpius. The colors match the basic Scorpion most closely, however.
