Phantasy Star: Deluxe Edition: Odin in Stone

Just before his death, Nero told his sister Alis to look for a strong warrior named Odin. It was Nero's hope that Odin might help Alis defeat the tyrant king, Lassic. When Alis finally locates the strongman, what she finds is unexpected. Instead of an ally, she uncovers a statue. Poor Odin has been turned to stone during an encounter with the revived monster, Medusa. A look of horror is frozen on his face, as though he realized too late that he was not prepared for Medusa's petrification ability.

I always wondered where exactly Medusa came from. I doubt Algol had the Greek Gods around.

It is a curious circumstance, isn't it? There's Medusa and mentions of Perseus, the guy who killed her in Greek legend. It makes me wonder if there was contact between Algo and Earth well before PSI.
