As insane as his name suggests, Dr. Mad is the only boss in Phantasy Star: Deluxe Edition crazy enough to come up against Alis and friends a second time. After he is thoroughly defeated in his own laboratory, he shows up again in a passage near Baya Malay. Some citizens of Palma believe the man is Lassic himself as well, thanks to another foe: Shadow. Shadow, Lassic's body double, looks just like Dr. Mad (even using the same color scheme in the remake, something not true in Phantasy Star). Neither is a particular challenge for our heroine, however.
