While most enemies in Phantasy Star - Deluxe Edition are very similar to their original designs seen in Phantasy Star, a few have strange differences. One such case is Motavia's fire-breathing Amundsen and his cousin, the Frostman of Dezoris. In the Master System game, they were humanoid creatures, with clearly defined legs, arms, and male torsos. The new version appears far less human-like due to the removal of the legs. Arms still seem to be present, but eternally crossed in front of the torso. The lack of animation means we cannot be certain about that. In the game's internal references, the Amundsen is named "Balkan." The Frostman's Chinese name translates as "Ice Giant," according to Google's translation service.
