Phantasy Star: Fringes of Algo

This promotional screenshot from the Japan-only Phantasy Star mobile phone remake shows one of the reimagined cutscenes in the game. While the basics of the game and story remain unchanged, many of the graphics were altered for a more modern and slim game design. Alis is easily recognized even with the updated look.

I like this design of Alis better, probably because she has more of an anime look to her. I have never really taken to the realistic designs of the Phantasy Star characters (eg: the box art work designs)

This (new) character design surpasses any of PSII, PSIII and PSgen2 designs.

Sonic Team definitely put in a great effort to keep this version as close to the original as possible. Some of the redesigns are better than others, but this game really seems to be one of the best looking.
