Phantasy Star Complete Collection: Scorpirus

The familiar scorpion family enemies from Phantasy Star returned in Phantasy Star Gaiden, one of many foes that strengthens the connection of this side story to the original title in the series. This particular artwork from the manual is labeled スコーピラス, which roughly translates as Scorpirus. That's fairly close to the name used in the original game, as well. The manual describes the creature as a mutant scorpion, which might explain the wings.

That's pretty awesome looking. It also appears he has a black bangle around his stinger.

A very pretty Scorpirus ! You don't want to kill him but to hug him...(not the best decision !! )

This is definitely a cutesy version of the Scorpions from Phantasy Star 1. I'm sure it's still just as deadly at lower levels.
