Phantasy Star Complete Collection: Ribbon

This Ribbon is Nei's most basic head protection in Phantasy Star II. As with many RPGs, the early forms of protective gear in this game are lacking in actual protective qualities. No one would really wear a little strip of cloth like this and expect it to provide any kind of protection in a fight. The wearer might look fashionable, but the only part of the Ribbon that has any real chance of stopping a biomonster's claw is the knot in the center.

This one made me laugh. It's like a placebo they gave to her.

The PS team had to create items to enhance the RPG aspect of buying and selling armor, weapons and items. Even ribbons serve that purpose.

Hey, don't knock the placebo effect- it's just as powerful as most over-the-counter cold medicines! ...I can see Nei getting upset the first time she finds out the ribbon doesn't work very well.

This Ribbon is really...light ! That's more a placebo effect like Newsblade has said or a decorative "armor" : maybe the knot is in metal ?
