When he arrives in Cille at the end of his search for Maia, Rhys faces extreme prejudice from her people. They are Layans who despise Orakians like Rhys, tossing insults and thinly veiled death threats at the adventuring prince. It is easy to forget, however, that Rhys and many of his fellow Orakians harbored a similar prejudice at the beginning of his quest. When Maia was first taken by a dragon, it was Rhys who wished to rouse the army to destroy all Layans in revenge. This illustration shows his anger as he sets from Landen alone, his thoughts of red rage focused on the legendary foe of Orakio.
