For the second game in the
Phantasy Star series, the series logo was redesigned slightly. This version reflected the increased focus on science fiction instead of fantasy within the new game's story. The shape of the letters remained generally the same, with the addition of beveled edges. The letters are more reflective of an unseen light source, providing a more metallic look to match the increased technology level of Algo's civilization. Until the release of
Phantasy Star IV, this would serve as the default logo for the series.
