Phantasy Star: Fringes of Algo

This freaky little fellow is one of the unique enemies found only in Phantasy Star Gaiden. That should come as no surprise, given how much he deviates from the designs of other enemies, many of which were inspired by Phantasy Star monsters. His name is ホグロー, which has no direct English translation that I can find. Hoguro or Hogerow seem to be the best attempts. His description in the manual promises a lot of experience points for a victory over this foe, but some reports say that is not the case.

Very unusual looking. I was going to say he was cute, but then after looking at him awhile I began to question if that was something coming out of his "nose" or just what it was. That left me feeling kinda grossed out! :yuck:

Yeah, I'm pretty sure that is meant to be coming out of his nose. I'm not sure what's up with that, but I'm glad it isn't common among Phantasy Star characters.
