Back in the day, game manuals included instructions on how to care for your newly acquired cartridges. Manual designers, at least those in Japan, had some fun with this by including colorful illustrations indicating what owners should not do to the games.
In this
Phantasy Star IV illustration, Alys touches a cartridge inappropriately. One should never stick a finger into strange openings, especially those with circuit boards sticking out. The long suffering Demi stands back, holding up her customary "don't do that" sign. From the expression on her face, I think she sympathizes with the poor cartridge.
