In the well guarded inner sanctum of Esper Mansion, home of the wizards and telementals like Rune and Kyra, our intrepid heroes hope to seek the guidance of the Esper leader, Lutz. As these storyboards from
Phantasy Star IV reveal, that was not scripted to turn out how they might have expected. Instead of an ancient wizard, they find only a sphere containing his memories. Memories that have already been passed on to a successor - the group's own master wizard, Rune. This comes as a great surprise to Kyra, who idolizes Lutz but will soon have her preconceived notions of her leader shattered.
