Phantasy Star Collection (Saturn): Rika Headshots 2

When designing characters, artists will often practice drawing the character with a variety of facial expressions from many different angles. This technique has been used by game designers, television developers, and even comic book pencillers. The main cast of Phantasy Star IV received this treatment as well. In this selection, we can see several headshots displaying a range of emotions. Anger, curiosity, and a cute playfulness are all apparent. Also included is a relaxed, seated pose for Rika. This full body piece puts an emphasis on her legs, no doubt to entice young male gamers into trying the game.

Yeah, those are all great images, but I have to wonder if anyone is really ever looking at her head.

The angry one is good, but personally I like the upper right one a little more. It gives off more positive vibes than anger.
