Phantasy Star Collection (Saturn): Chaz Kneeling

In this sketch, a kneeling Chaz casts a long shadow that stretches into the background. The scene is reminiscent of his kneeling before the headstone of Alys, although he did not have sword in that case.

Although not used in the final version of Phantasy Star IV, this piece was incorporated into the 1992 Tokyo Toy Show prototype, where it was overlaid on a space view of a planet. That background was used in the final game's introduction sequence, however.

That sword he's holding is reminiscent of the saber's from PSO/PSU fame.

It reminds me of Chaz performing his "Earth" skill.

I was thinking that too, actually. He also seems to have a bit of an angry sneer on his face, like he's scoffing at someone...probably Rune.

Yeah, I can see this being Earth too, now that you mention it. It didn't occur to me before because I rarely used that skill.
