Phantasy Star Collection (Saturn): Alternate Chaz

This alternate character design depicts Chaz as a professional hunter. Chaz was originally planned to appear in Phantasy Star IV like this, as a Hunter who had been at the job for a while. That plan was abandoned because starting a "professional" character at level 1 makes little sense. The design was changed to the more familiar look early on. As a pro, Chaz wears larger, heavier armor on his torso and forearms, but less leg protection.

Most of these are republished in Phantasy Star Collection (Saturn) from Phantasy Star: Official Production Compendium. The book lacks the rear view in this image, but does have another face close up.

I think Chaz looks "better" here than in his final version. The only thing I don't like so much is the back of his armour.

The bottom left Chaz looks kinda like Rune...
