It's a forest that leads to Tonoe. Uncommon on Motavia, but yeah. The Central Plateau can be quite challenging at times ( I know Atlin loved it ), but if it will make traversing through there easier, then I'll add borders. And I do feel that the new music for Rune's cutscene is a bit... dramatic, but I can't find a better tune...

How are you finding the battles so far, though?

Central Plateau was a nice surprise. =D

But yeah, when I get internet on my computer again, then I'll download the new demo and (hopefully) start up my essay for reviewing. >.>

The battles are fun, you actually need to use all the skills available to you and Guard. The music there is really motivating. The button pressing skills add to them as well, as simple as an idea it is. And OD's are truly a lifesaver at some times.

Current updates for the Mota Arc:

- Added borders to the Central Plateau to avoid confusion and frustration.
- Increased the difficulty of the sandworm fight.
- Replaced all of Alys' character portraits with new art.
- Added the Platinum Axe to the weapon database. Removed the additional Platinum Slicer in the Ladea Tower.

I'm still thinking of an Od skill for Rika. Any ideas?

An OD for Rika won't be needed anymore. She doesn't feature in my game anymore, neither does Chaz. They simply do not exist in my universe.

Some game changes: Storyline-wise

- Alys is now hired by the Dean as an escort by the Dean, to help Hahn ( who heads the BirthValley research now ) look into the disappearance of his fellow colleagues. He now has a far greater role in the story, and is now a permanent party member.
- I'm thinking of giving Daughter a more significant role in the game, instead of just putting her in some stupid side-quest which only served as a hindrance in the original, rather than to advance the plot. Speaking of side-quests. I think it would be far better to include them as plot advances, rather than serve as a 'filler'. Of course, the Guild Missions would have to change as well. Hmmm...
- Naturally, Demi becomes more NB as well. I seriously need to exhaust my creative brainpower now.
- Staying at Inns will reveal crucial bg info on character backgrounds and provide insight into some of the events of the game.

That's all I can think of for now.

Sounds like some good changes coming up and still liking that you are making this more of your own game.

I have read some of Aero's EOTA stuff and boy I still have a lot to read, I would like to see some of those elements more matured into your world too Lyla such as the Military. It always kind of bugged me that the Hunters were the only real form of defence/police force, which is kind of strange that there is no standing government in PS4 who is in charge of the efforts to rebuild civilisation on Mota?

But yay for the change and I'm hoping that the empty slot can be filled with a unique type of character that hasn't been rehashed like so many other games do.

There have been some drastic changes into the storyline, to the extent that it barely resembled PS4's ( but then again, this game was never intended as a PS4 'remake'. I wouldn't want to remake a game with a weak storyline :P) and has quite seriously, become my own.

I have Aero's permission to use lore from his EoTA universe, so those players can expect some pleasant surprises in BaNL. Both take place in the same alternate PS universe, so in a way, BaNL can be called a 'sequel' to EoTA, but that hasn't been decided yet. He is also helping me flesh out some details of the game: for example, fleshing out Gryz so he isn't seen as, in Aero's words, a shallow Motavian out for revenge. His personality was at best, bland in PS4, at worst, downright boring, so we are trying to inject some life into this Motavian. It's proving a wee bit hard, though.

There are several interesting plot twists in the game. It quite literally made my heart pound with excitement when playing. I've also made a new video, around 7:30 minutes in length, that should showcase a small piece of the new demo.

AIs, quite simply, rule in this game. ^^ Just a word of warning though. The storyline is quite intense at time, and sometimes downright disturbing as well. But I really need to dive into the psyche of what makes the characters and villians alike tick. They're aren't just good, because 'it's the right thing to do!' or evil because 'I'm possesed by an evil being!' Oh no, it's much, much more than that.

Stay tuned.

Looking very nice. Can't wait to see that video. A question: Have you decided now which characters will be playable? Zio might be an interesting character to have.

Confirmed characters so far are: Alys, Rune, Hahn, Demi, Wren, Gryz and maybe Kyra. I'm not too sure about Raja. He was just there 'for the fun of it' even though he's a great healer ( best in the series, imo ). Nearly all characters in the game have a very vital role in one way or the other.
I won't include them if they serve no real purpose or are there for no good reason at all.

But Zio is a definite maybe. It's still too early to say, though. Writing out the new storyline is proving lots of fun. Hehe, you know how I love my cliffhangers. I've also divided the game up into different 'episodes'. It makes it easier to beta-test and to manage the entire game.
