HOWEVER, I do not think anyone should ever put a pet in or close too a Christmas tree, especially one that is decorated and has lights on it, and that may be artificial. If I remember, there are also instructions to keep pets away from some of these things also in the Christmas Tree directions, etc., as they may be harmful to your pet, especially if they ingest or eat any of the decorations, tree parts, etc.
We have a tree, but we have made it pet proof for the most part by not allowing our pets availibility to get anywhere around it for the most part, and especially if they are not supervised.
