Wonder Woman on tv

There's lots to talk about on the smaller screen.

Wonder Woman on tv

It appears there may be a new "Wonder Woman" tv series in the making:

I really hope they can get this done. It could be a very interesting and popular show. Just look at what they have done with "Smallville", etc.

Get a fantastic actress to play the role of Wonder Woman, some great scripts, and some fascinating guest superheroes and supervillians and this could be great!!! :hyper:

Anyone remember the classic "Wonder Woman" tv show starring Linda Carter?

I think Kathie Lee Crosby was in a "Wonder Woman" tv movie also.

I'm not too surprised by this. Part of the reason for the big costume change a little while back was to make the character more marketable. They wanted something that would adapt to TV and movies better. With Smallville ending and a need to replace that, a new Wonder Woman show would have a perfect chance to take off.

Crosby's movie was a failed pilot actually, if I remember correctly. It was reworked into what became the Lynda Carter series.

A long time ago, I heard they were making a Wonder Woman movie with Carmen Electra playing the title character. Looks like it wasn't true though, because I haven't heard about it since.

The actress has been chosen to play the role of "Wonder Woman" in a new tv series on NBC:

So, anyone familiar with her previous work??

How do you think she will be as a new "Wonder Woman"?

The only thing I know this actress from is an early episode of Smallville, where she played a fake version of Supergirl. Her acting was rather wooden and stiff in that episode, at least to my eye. Maybe that was part of the role, but it didn't give me high hopes for her career. Of course, from what I've read about the supposed pilot script for this series, I don't have high hopes for it either.

It may have been true at the time. There are countless superhero movie, game, and TV projects that were abandoned early on. A Superman movie was in the works during the 1990s, but it died off. It would have been rather bad, from what I've read about it.

Well, the above mentioned "Wonder Woman" project did not seem to make it or last long, but don't give up, there is still hope yet that we may get to see some type of "Wonder Woman" show on the small screen :

IMHO, if anyone can do this, and do it right, the CW has a good shot at it. Look at how well "Smallville" and "Arrow" have done. The only problem I see with a "Wonder Woman" show is that is going to be awfully hard to top the past performance of actress Lynda Carter, but there has to be someone in the younger generation that can do it and do it well. I do so hope they get this going and get it right!!!!

Eh, it doesn't sound very promising. But, neither did some of the things announced for Arrow and most those worked out fairly well. I can only hope this would as well.
