Batman 3/Superman

Chris Nolan will mentor the new Batman 3 / Superman movies:

He seems to have had good success so far with Batman, etc., so this could be a good move for both movie franchises of Batman/Superman. What do you think?

Also, would you like to see actor Brandon Routh back as Superman, or should someone else play the part in a new movie?

I was surprised to hear of Nolan taking on Superman. I'm glad he is, though - maybe it'll actually get done that way. The Superman movie franchise has a long history of being bogged down in ideas that are so bad, almost nothing gets off the ground. It also opens up the door for a possible meeting of the two characters in a movie.

That does sound interesting. Also I wouldn’t mind seeing both Batman and Superman in a live action movie together either.

It's been announced now that the new Superman movie will cast Henry Cavill in the role. I guess Routh will have to be content with playing Superman only once.

The new Superman guy is cute! I read he's British, I think it was. Looks are only half of what's needed though. It remains to be seen whether he can really act and do justice to the roll.

I feel a little bad for Brandon Routh. I knew him before the Superman role and although I was skeptical, I have to admit he pulled off the role rather well. He could have done well in another film too, but it's been a good while between films and I guess it's just time for someone new to take over.

Batman and Superman together in one film would be amazing! If done right, it might be interesting. I wouldn't want to see them trying to one up each other or fight each other though...in that respect there could be no winners or losers.

There has never been a good "part 3" superhero movie.

Yeah, most third entries in a series are subpar. Superman III, Batman Forever, and even Spider-Man III were all let downs in a lot of ways. Villain overcrowding seems to always begin in the third installment.

Let's hope the new Batman series can break that pattern.
