Online or offline

Given a choice, would you rather play an online game or an offline game, and why?

I would choose offline. I enjoy playing games for their stories, and those tend to be better in offline games. There's no much importance placed on story online. Plus I have a slow internet connection, so my online playing used to be laggy and prone to disconnects. Not fun, that.

I prefer offline. There are two reasons:
- the Internet is very expensive
- connection is terrible.

But I hope one day I will be able to play Ragnarok Online with my friends.
Please, excuse my terrible grammar! =)

Offline... I like to go at my own pace, and I'm usually feeling rushed in online games.

Offline also. It's more fun and more convenient in case you have to stop and do other things in between playing time.

I like playing offline too. I don't have to feel pushed into doing something that I'm not ready for, or don't have time for.

I love playing online games. They have become almost the only thing I play any more. Story is debatable. It is much less about individual accomplishment in an online game than an offline so feeling "special" like in an offline game doesn't really happen but if you take the time to read there is plenty of story going on. Plus I love the idea that the world keeps going on around me when I'm not playing, there's something really great about that.

I guess the amount of story depends on which game you play. I used to play Ultima Online a few years ago. It was fun and had the sense of being a world that kept going, but I never felt drawn into whatever story aspects existed. The story was there, I guess, but I was too far removed from it to notice any of it, you know?

Offline for me. I agree with both Neithird and Secret_Surfer completely. They pretty much covered my thoughts on the matter.
