Another one...been busy for Christmas. This is a Loggerhead Shrike. They're pretty neat birds, as they're songbirds that live like birds of prey. For the drawing, it's a mix of colored pencil and graphite pencil. I don't have a huge amount to say on it, but I'm pretty happy with it.

Interesting looking bird. I don't know very much about this bird as I can't recall seeing or hearing about it before. I'll look it up in my bird book when I have the time. Terrific drawing, and I like the way you have placed it in the picture. Since the drawing is not in color, I'll ask, is the bird a white color or is it yellow? I'll bet it is beautiful to see in person.

Actually, it is in color. The bird is actually a very light grey color, with a bit of black and white. Some of what would normally be white, however, is colored in grey, to reflect texturing and shading.

It's a really neat drawing but I have to say that it does look a little bit fatter than an actually loggerhead shrike. But other than that, it's really good.
