Nintendo is cutting back prices on some of it's game systems, etc.:

Any price cut is always a plus, especially in these troubled economic times. And, this should help those people who will be shopping for Christmas gifts before too much longer.

Eh, it's not nearly enough of a price cut to catch strong interest, in my opinion. With the 3DS on the horizon, possibly out before the end of this year in Japan, Nintendo is going to have to do a lot better to move the DSi off the shelves. All the major handheld games Nintendo is working on now are slated for the 3DS, so there's little reason to consider getting a DSi.
