Microsoft is set to unveil Windows 9 at a Press Event on September 30th, 2014. Sooner than expected, but that's fine with me.

We should expect no less of a HAL series OS predecessor.
Snorb, parodying Skyfall correctly this time, wrote:They kept Windows 8 for twenty-one months in a room with no Internet. They rewrote it, and it protected their intellectual property. It protected Microsoft. But they made Win8 suffer. And suffer. And suffer. Until Win8 realized, it was MS who betrayed it. So it only had one thing left: the Start Menu button in its lower left corner. You remember, right? So it clicked the button and chose an option from the menu. It... burned all the source code, but Windows didn't die. Life clung to Windows 8 like a disease. And then it understood why Windows needed to survive: Windows 8 needed to be on your desktop one last time.
