Amtrak train ran off the tracks and wrecked in Washington. Several people killed and many more injured:

Condolences to families of those killed and wishes for a speedy recovery for those injured. Scary!

Honestly I wish the media would stop publicizing every single plane or train wreck. For every one that crashes, there’s thousands if not more that go every day with no problems, but because the media jumps on these events, it creates a risk perception bias that these events are frequent. Planes and trains are far safer means of travel than cars - and there are tens or hundreds of car crashes every day.
