 Post subject: New Unicron Transformer

So Hasbro is going to be releasing a new Unicron figure. So far with in the history of Transformer figures only one main mold for Unicron has ever been released and was durning Armada.

The problem for this is that figure is not going to be affordable by everyone. So far limited to only 8000 units with a cost of around 600$. That is extremely steep for a Transformer figure. (Titan Class can run about 150$).

Perhaps if I get enough encouragement I can start a thread where I talk about transformer figures and give some of my opinions.

Wow, that is expensive! I agree that not many will probably be able to afford that.

Last time I saw my nephews one of them had purchased and was showing me whatever version of Unicron that Hasbro made available after this, which I was told was still over $300 (YIKES!!!!!). :yikes:

His was definitely smaller than the one shown by Rylen, but still stood a good foot tall in robot form. Certainly the sort of toy I would have gone nuts for as a kid, but not at a price point of over $300. :o

I must have heard the price wrong, this is the figure of Unicron he has.:

That is what we refer to as a "Third Party" figure. As one that releases a figure based on an existing IP of another company. Often using some kind of unusual name. But everyone knows who it is suppose to be. The problem with 3P figures is that they often cost a small fortune. Given that they don't have the same kind of resources as Takara-Tomy or Hasbro. I've seen figures in the Voyager class range that cost 40$ from Hasbro but would cost over 150$ if it was a 3P version. Plus you never know what quality of the materials will be. I could go into an entire rant of 3P figures vs out right knock-offs. But I will spare you that for now.

This version of Starscream is the version released in the Earthrise line with some extra stuff added in. In this case showing off his appearance in Transformers: The Movie (from 86). Works well to recreate Starscream's final scene in that movie with Galvatron. Which was very memorable.
