Happy birthday !!! Bon anniversaire ! otanjoobi Omedetoo !!
Just the day of his birthday, a french editor, specialized in Video games books and magazines, announced a book on the portrait of Ralph Baer !! If I'm authorized, can I put a link ? If its's the case I'll open a new post on it because some of the books are already translated in english (two on Nintendo's History :)).

Sorry if this post is a bit out of the subject....

Ah I didn't know this word, pun, but now...I know ! lol A "play on words" (jeu de mots ;)) Me too I like it and them ^^

Just a precision : I know the meaning of whippersnapper and I think that the sentence came from some movies or other creation but which one ?

"Jeu de mots" sounds so much better than "play on words." And now I learned something new! Thanks!

I'm not sure if that line has a specific reference. I always thought "get off my lawn" was a clichéd phrase old, cranky men are supposedly known to use on neighborhood kids that run around on the old men's property. "Git off mah lawn" is just adding a hillbilly accent to it. There's a cliché in the states that some old, retired people (mostly men) have nothing better to do all day than sit on their front porches (even more clichéd if they're in rocking chairs) or fuss with their yards, and they're often perturbed by little annoyances, like kids stepping on their grass.

No need to thank me because we learn so much from each other and each passing day :) I know the word "cliché" !:) same as "get off my lawn" ("hors de ma pelouse" !!;)).
Ah ! What you just described make me think about the movie "Gran Torino" (a FANTASTIC film ! I love this one) who was just yesterday on a french channel : but I vae already seen it at the cinema and seen it two times : truly fantastic !:)
