I added the tongues to Dark Force PS3 and some detail on the top. And yes, his hands will be separate opponents just like in the original version :D Already placed him in the game to test that and it works great. Currently, I'm working on the actual battle hud to make it less generic, here's what I have now instead of the default rpg maker message box (which can be seen at the top left):

I'll repeat myself but this is truly excellent and amazing ! Hope you'll succeed because the first pictures we can see are really excellent ones !
The fact that the hands are going to be separate opponents with the head is great, and was one of the best "surprise about PSIII Dark Force version (the best version of all the Phantasy Star(s) for me ! ).
The battle hud seems to be good IMHO but if you can see some improvements...don't hesitate ! :fiery:

Incredible! How do you do this? I just started using RPG Maker XP myself, and I wonder how you create all those sprites. How do you make the Phantasy Star-type battle system, anyway?

I've been dabbling with spriting for about 10 years, and I'm no expert! But I started by making new 8 bit sprites for remakes of NES games like Legend of Zelda, Metroid and Mega Man. Since they are generally only 16x32 pixels in size max, and contain only 8 colours, it's simple. From there I moved onto fighting games like Street Fighter, taking parts of different sprites and blending them together to form new ones.

Trying to make sprites look as good as the Phantasy Star Playstation remakes isn't an easy task though =\ for every 1 that looks passable, there are another 9 which fail dramatically.

Thanks for the explanations !
"for every 1 that looks passable, there are another 9 which fail dramatically." : Even if there is only one that looks passsable, that doesn't matter ! It's a great work and keep up ! :fiery:
