My Melbourne anime haul

Postby Lucas » Wed Aug 31, '11, 1:38 am

So after working for one year and five months straight with no break, excluding weekends, Christmas Day and two forced days off because of Cyclone Yasi, I took my first holiday out of my state. I ended up going to Melbourne which is the capital city of Victoria. While I was there I went to the Manifest anime convention and I visited a total of three shops that specialised only in anime, comics and sci-fi stuff. I also went to the museum and a few other awesome places.

I'm now going to show all the anime related things I managed to buy for myself.

Start with the DVDs and a single CD, I purchased.

Unfortunately these seem to both be pirated DVDs. Squid Girl and X-Men anime collections. All my other DVDs are official thankfully.

I don't usually buy a lot of books but I managed too pick up four while I was down in Melbourne.

My awesome SFIV full colour comic book. Has some great Akuma images in there. Also a hard cover copy of The Rampage of Haruhi Suzumiya light novel.

My Ghost in the Shell Books. The large one is a manga graphic novel, the smaller one is just a regular light novel.

Finally I managed to get myself two very detailed, and very nice figures of Mari who is a main character in the second Evangelion film Evangelion 2.22: You can (not) advance.

Okay I’m done showing off now. Back to regular work routine tomorrow, sugar coated with a 4.00am wake up. :x

Looks like you had a nice haul. :) How is the X-Men anime? I've heard of it, but not looked into seeing any.

I'm glad you enjoyed your holiday Lucas and found a lot of very nice things to bring home with you too. You work hard at your job so you deserved some time for yourself. Those are some awesome finds! The statues are cool, and the books are awesome. I love books. One can never have enough books.

I haven't watched the X-men anime yet Thoul. But I'll be sure to let you know what I think of it. I have high hopes, put it that way. ;) Also thank you SS, I’ve recently started reading the Rampage of Haruhi Suzumiya novel. It's a funny but light hearted series with a reasonably in-depth plot.
