For the last couple of years, there's been a lot of reducing going on in the game industry. Many companies have laid off hundreds of staff or simply closed their doors forever. Today, a news article suggests that things are finally beginning to pick up. Many companies are beginning to hire people again, so the game industry has started to grow once more.
There's also some interesting information in the article about how much people in the industry earn for their work.

Seems like there's some job creation picking up in general in a lot of sectors/industries. That is good.
Last finished Pokémon game: Shield
Other games: Skyrim Special Edition (Switch), Spyro Reignited Trilogy (Switch & PS4), Okami (Switch & PS4)
Other gaming goals: completing a Living Pokedex (minus some event Pokes) and going through at least 1 game per generation

That is good news! As popular as video games seem to be for all ages, I would not be surprised if this job area doesn't stay fluent for a good long time.
