Memorial Day

Starting with today (Friday) many people everywhere will begin celebrating the Memorial Day Weekend.

Memorial Day is a day set aside to remember those who have died in service to our country.

Memorial Day will be officially observed on Monday, May 25th this year.

The traditional Memorial Day is always May 30th.

Memorial Day is one of those holidays where the official day of celebration was changed so it could concur with a 3 day weekend.

Bumping this topic up as it is once again time to celebrate the Memorial Day holiday for the year of 2010.

Memorial Day is Monday, May 31, in the US this year.

However, since This is one of our "holiday weekend" observances, many people will begin celebrating on Friday and continue right on through the weekend and Monday as well.

Hope everyone has a good time with those Memorial Day celebrations, cook-outs, etc.

And remember the original significance of the holiday in remembering and honoring those soilders who have lost their lives in service to their country.

Has anyone ever heard of "The Arlington Ladies"?

Found this article on them today (memorial day) and found it very interesting. They honor fallen soilders (and their families) on every day not just on the special holidays.
