Banned drink is recycled

Some Four Loko energy drinks that were recently banned are being recycled and used for gasoline, among other things:

I think it's great to see that these banned products are not just being destroyed but instead are being put to several better uses.

Combustible "energy" drinks that make people drunk? Yeah I can see why the FDA made a judgement against the sale of that garbage. Just ran the math on exactly how much of this stuff is getting recyckled into fuel; it's a staggering 440,625 gallons. Some of that is water content and sugar that will have to be extracted though, but still.

I'm glad the stuff is being recycled. And not just the drinks, but the cans and even shipping materials. It's much better to see this stuff transformed into a useful, safe products than just discarded into a landfill.

And, with the current rise in gas prices, etc., we can use all the extra fuel we can find out there.
