Walmart downsizes

Postby Silver_Surfer1 » Mon Jun 20, '11, 8:58 pm

Walmart is introducing some new smaller stores in order to compete with smaller businesses who seem to be attracting many customers:

And, in other Walmart news, Walmart recently lost a court case:

Also, the Supreme Court has voted in favor of Walmart during a recent case:

So now they're going back to having smaller stores in some places. I can't say it's too surprising. The various Dollar store chains, especially Dollar General, have been popping up all over the place around here. A lot of the time, I'll go to one of those because it's a lot closer, even if the prices are slightly higher. The savings in gas usage make up for it a lot. They're never as crowded as the Wal-marts, either.

Crazy stuff. I try to avoid shopping at Wal*Mart as much as possbible simply on the princibal that I use to work there (meaning: very bad company to work for.). Just don't feel good about supporting places that treat their employee's like yesterday's garbage.
