The names are too similar to be a coincidence, given all the other references to PS1 in PS4. I'm not sure what the connection was meant to be - maybe Hahn's ancestors hail from that region of Palma? It would be interesting to see a solid link to the big migration of people from Palma to Mota like that.

Very interesting question here !
First of all, I would like to take a look at the japanese names and see if they fit !
And the answer is :
In the first PS : It's (Ba Ya) Ma a re (Sorry I didn't find the corresponding katakanas :(
I've just read them on a scan)
Hahn Mahlay (Japanese: ハーン・マーレイ) : if my japanese is still functioning, it can be Ma a re i. (But I'm not a japanese specialist !).
So at first glance, it's not the same word :) (but not too far from each other).

Maybe a translator wish to tied the two games ? Or as the names are very near...maybe a will from the developers to tied them ? Hard to tell but it's always great to think that there is a connection between those two names.
