A Lunar Eclipse is set for tonight and this one is especially notable as it also happens on the winter solstice (first day of winter) making this an extremely rare event that hasn't happened in over 400 years.

Anyone planning on watching the skies for this spectacular event??

I'll be setting an alarm. My fiancé has to work tomorrow, but I don't, so I left it up to him and he agreed to see it. (But we do have to get some sleep, so we'll be responsible adults and go to bed at our usual time and just wake up for a little while.

It's going to be too clod for my tastes that late at night. I might try to look out a window, but the moon will probably be mostly directly overhead, in a position I can't see at that hour.

I'll be watching. Clouds keep threatening to spoil the fun, though. I'm always up at that time, anyway. I just have to find a good viewing spot, since the building or parking garage at work might get in the way.

Oh! Top level of the parking garage. Duh. That's where I'll be.

Interesting. I'll need to get outside tonight and see what it's like, if at all possible. :p

Clouds got in the way occasionally, but it turned out quite lovely. It was a really clear night, thanks to the dry Winter weather. I think full Lunar eclipses are more interesting than Solar eclipses, too.

Hooray that the days grow longer from now until June in the Northern Hemisphere. I hate short days.

I'm majorly peeved about this. The one thing I've wanted to see and it had to get cloudy and start pouring down last night. I was majorly saddened when I saw the clouds come from the distance and then all the lightning. It doesn't rain in almost 4 months and then it finally decides to do it.. Effin bah

Cloudy last night, so couldn't see it. Would've loved to, though.
