Antibacterial soaps, etc. gone

Postby Silver_Surfer1 » Sun Sep 4, '16, 1:10 am

According to some studies it seems that antibacterial ingredients may not be working as was thought in some soaps, and other products which contain them so the Food and Drug Administration wants them out of these products soon.

Surprise to me. I always look for antibacterial soap, and other products, because I thought it was better. Oh well, I wonder how this will change my regular antibacterial soap?

That's actually good, we have to be careful about anything "antibacterial" since anything that kills most bacteria but not all can create superbugs. Not the issue discussed in the article, but something to think of nonetheless. I do think that the FDA should be careful about encouraging the use of hand rubs, because killing 99.9% of bacteria can also lead to creating superbugs. /crazy rants.

Basically everything Lemina said, especially since the evidence is scant that "Antibacterial" are anymore effective than normal soaps and hand washes. And of course, the superbug issue.
