Well, this one didn't come out exactly like I wanted it, but it's the first time I've tried to get a background with pastels. I think the next thing I try to draw won't be a troll, but I may be wrong.

Very strange but very good ! So It's the troll you were going to draw ? A bit creepy but great.

Thank you all very much! myau, this is indeed the same troll I was talking about. I had trouble with a couple of things in the drawing (which is still evident) so it took forever to get it done.

I'm glad you liked the background, Silver_Surfer1, because that was definitely a focus of this one, since I hardly ever even draw them. It's a lot more fun doing backgrounds in color, I find, since with a pen or pencil there's just so much empty space to cover, whereas here I could just splash some different colors around and suggest a cave setting.

And Arctic-snowfox, you are too kind! I have about ten thousand issues with this one, but I'm going to keep working on stuff.

Once again you’re pretty much spot on with your shading and giving depth to your drawings. It’s turned out quite unique once again since it’s all done with pastels. Quite a menacing troll too so well done. :)

Have you tried drawing demons from the Shin Megami Tensei series?

This style would totally fit them.

I actually haven't played the Shin Megami Tensei series. My nephew is always trying to get me to check it out, though, because he knows I'm into demonology and angelology and all that. So actually, if I were gonna draw demons and angels, I would probably tend to try to draw more from actual religious sources. I actually meant to do Yaldabaoth, the demiurge in some forms of Gnosticism, a while back with these oil pastels. He's often described as blind, despite his immense material power, so I was gonna depict him as eyeless and sort of amorphous, but I never got around to it. I used to love to draw demons and stuff when I was a kid, but I guess it's sort of depressing or something now.

If you do not feel the drive to draw demons at this time I guess it is better that you do not.

And you may like SMT if you decide to play it later. It is a very interesting series. Some demons are really demonic, but some are "cute" and "fun". Also, depending on the game, demons may actually be part of humanity's collective consciousness.
