A new health food fad, sort of....coconut water..anyone tried it?

Seems to be very popular among some in Hollywood and elsewhere:

It is very common here in Brazil. You can find coconut water everywhere, both bottled or direct from the coconut (they drill a hole in the coconut and put a straw into it, so people drink it direct from the coconut). The taste is very good and when it is cold, it is very refreshing. They say it is also better than water to keep people hydrated during the hot summer.
A person only sees and hears what he wants to see and hear and disregards the rest.

Interesting. I've never even heard of this before. I knew coconuts had liquid in them (mainly thanks to TV shows about people stranded on islands), but to learn that it could be nutritional is a surprise.

I had a friend who caught dengue fever (a mosquito-transmitted illness) and one of the general counsels for him was to drink lots of coconut water. I think my wife drank a lot either when she was pregnant or when she was nursing (we also used to give it to Susan when she was a few months old).
