Best old game music.

I'm not sure if this was created some other time but I haven't seen it if it has. Basically, what old game has the best music you've heard? I have some ulterior motives for this prompt but maybe you'll find those out later.

Well, Phantasy Star and PSIV both have some great selections. The Mega Man series has great music, too.

Yuzo Koshiro, anyone? The man has an impressive list of awesome video game music soundtracks:

The Shinobi games (Revenge of Shinobi has the best, in my opinion), Sonic, Streets of Rage, Beyond Oasis, I could go on...

Also, pretty much anything composed by Tokuhiko Uwabo. Here's a list of some games he's done the music for:

His works include Phantasy Star II, Fantasy Zone, the Space Harrier games, the Zillion games, Alex Kidd in Miracle World, and I'll say it: even the two Disney games have excellent music. I think he also did the music for the Columns games, but it's not on that list.

Phantasy Star I, II & IV definitely. I also liked the music in Yoshi’s Island and Final Fantasy VI.

Well, so far I'll have to go with Phantasy Star IV, Heavy Rain, and almost any GTA talk only radio stations. XD

Chris Huelsbeck's entire soundtrack for Turrican II is 100% awesome.

Also, Yasunori Mitsuda's work on Chrono Cross makes for wonderful listening. It's (mostly) relaxing string/wind/Celtic-sounding =D

Sonic 3, PS III and IV have really great tunes. Except the battle tune in PS3 of course. >< I love the Ice Cap Zone tune in Sonic 3 as well. Oh, and Alisa Dragoon as well. Oh, and don't stone me, but I love FFIV and FFVI's music as well. *cowers* Uematsu is a brilliant composer.

Of the ones I've heard and can remember, I'd have to say Mega Man also.
