Congratulations to the announced winning horse in the 2019 Kentucky Derby, Country House! :clap:

However, Country House was not the first horse to cross the finish line. That honor goes to Maximum Security. Maximum Security was disqualified after an incident that took place during the race though. Very sad. :cry:

I believe I read something today that Maximum Security's owner may protest this outcome. I wonder if he will take it to the courts some way or other?

Not relevant to this year's derby, but I just finished the audiobook version of "American Pharoah" (2015 triple crown winner) by Aaron Abano. It was about the horse's training, all the fits and starts and basically that horse's story. Interesting, though admittedly it garnered some mixed feelings in me, especially hearing about how many race horses are abused and not well cared for. I also just have mixed feelings about horse racing in general, but that's another matter.

The winner of the 2020 Kentucky Derby is the horse named Authentic! The Derby race was held on Saturday this past weekend.
