Pixels

Postby Silver_Surfer1 » Wed Jul 22, '15, 2:54 am

I just recently found out about this movie called "Pixels". It sounds awesome, especially to a video game fan. It seems the villians in the movie are video game characters. Take a look at this:

If anyone sees this movie, let us know what you thought about it.

I would be interested in this movie, were it not for the fact that it's an Adam Sandler movie. I find him offensively unfunny considering how "celebrity" and famous he is, just plain annoying, and how Hollywood seems to try to shoehorn him into as many movies as they can. At least for me, he ruins every movie he's in. I probably will not see it until it goes up on Netflix.

On the other hand...

Professor Iwatani: (touches Pac-Man) Pac-Man is not evil.
Pac-Man: (munches Iwatani's arm)
Iwatani: SOMEONE KILL THIS STUPID THING! ;_;

UPDATE!!!

So, a Destructoid article appeared on my Facebook feed, "Some Jerk Ruins Pixels' Perfect-Zero Rotten Tomatoes Score."

It turns out that it was written by one of the four now ex-friends I lived with in 2010 who stole all my money.

Small world, huh?

I just read an online review of this movie and it was not very complimentary to the movie at all. Also it seems where they thought the movie might make around $50 million at the box office, now they think it might be around half that. Doesn't sound good.

Oh, and Wolf Bird, I would have to agree in regards to Adam Sandler. I don't like his acting style either.

Still, if I get a chance to see the movie I probably will just because of the video game characters.

I am not surprised at all that this movie is getting lampooned and then some by most critics. I like the concept, I really do, but between Sandler and how basically no one likes it, I'm not bothering with a theater.

And Snorb...wow. Small world indeed

I just saw the posters and the trailer when I watched Ant-Man. I did not know of this movie before then.

The posters were intriguing, since I did play those games as a kid.

The trailer starts with Sandler before it makes it obvious it is about Pixels. I am no different from you when it comes to disliking his appearances in films, so that was not a good start. The trailer then got better with Peter Dinklage, whom I have liked since Treshold (I wish they had not cancelled that series).

Then the training part was interesting. I thought the Donkey Kong screen looked good and could be funny.

Then came this... Having the creator of Pac-Man in the movie would be a very strong point and may have made people go see it... If they did not spoil all of his participation in the trailer... I think it was such a stupid move. Why should I watch the movie now, when they already used this? Also, that joke is not the type of humor I find funny, but I accept it is the type of humor the movie goes for (and that would be the moment I realize that no, this movie would not amuse me).

Also, I do not remember the videogame that had such detailed Smurfs. Was that from a BD sent along with the games?
