Audie was a World War 2 War Hero who received many medals including the highest, The Congressional Medal Of Honor!
Audie later became a successful Actor in Hollywood making many movies. He was also an author writing his autobiography "To Hell And Back", which was also made into a very successful movie with Audie playing himself in the film. He was also a songwriter and poet, etc.
Audie suffered with PTSS after the war, and is credited with helping to make this condition more known about.
Audie was killed in an airplane crash on May 28, 1971. He is buried at Arlington National Cemetery in Washington, D,C. His grave is one of, if not the most, visited in the cemetery.
